About me

My Philosophy

As a postpartum doula, it is my goal to provide nonjudgemental support, encouragement, and companionship to a mom and family of a newborn and young infant.

My Story

My name is Savannah Bowden. I have been married for almost 12 years. I am a mother of 4 beautiful children who light up my life. My births for each of them were unique. My first was an unexpected cesarean due to presentation. My second was a planned repeat c-section due to fear. My third was an attempt to VBAC during the Christmas season. However, I had a c-section due to not going into labor. My fourth was a hard-earned VBA3C. With all of my births I had various difficulties during my postpartum period. It wasn’t until after my 4th, I realized the need for support during postpartum. I hope that my experiences and future training will equip me to educate and support new and veteran moms to adjust with their new babies and process the emotions and physical healing from birth. I am blessed to be able to serve the River Region and offer support to its families.

Together we will create a postpartum care plan that fits you and your family’s needs. Through my services you can expect education on postpartum procedures and baby care in the hospital,  education on recovery and baby care at home, and support and encouragement as you navigate this new life with your sweet baby. You can expect me to face the challenges and to celebrate the triumphs with you. You’re not alone.
